Mrs. Eleni Koliopoulos
Hello 209 Students and Families!
Congratulations, we’ve made it to the last week of school! After this week students are officially 5th graders, and on summer break! What a year we’ve had. This class has truly been so enjoyable to teach. I am disappointed that our in-person classes were cut short, but know it was best for our health and saftey. I am beyond proud of the students for adapting and persevering through this school year. I also want to thank all the families for your continued support and flexability as we navigated through the school year. This week we will continue to have class meetings through our last day of school, Thursday (June 18th). Class Meeting Schedule
I have also posted two optional end of year assignments for you to complete; 1. Class Awards Ballot 2. Memory Book Hope you all have a great week! Ms. Lemberis.

Hello Students and Families,
I hope everyone is doing well. Notes/Reminders
Below is an outline of this week's assignments for Reading, Math, and Science! Reading Assignments/ Information This week students will complete a daily reading with paired questions that review all we have learned! Students should complete the following reading activities this week;
Math Assignments/ Information Students should continue to practice math 20-30 minutes a day. They can work on Khan Academy Lessons or on the ¨PDF Math Activities¨ posted in google classroom. This week I will post journal pages and Home Links from Everyday Math lessons 8.10-8.12. During these lessons students will solve number stories involving fractions and measurements, and apply your understanding of place value and operations. As a reminder this unit is complex and brings everything students have studied together. It will be challenging. I encourage students to try these lessons, and do their best. I will post the answers to the Math Journal pages at the end of each week. In addition, I have assigned Khan Academy lessons focusing on multiplication and division! Science Assignments/ Information This week students will watch/complete a Mystery Science Investigation about electricity! Students will be introduced to electricity as a form of energy. In the activity, Build a Flashlight, students investigate how electrical energy requires a circuit and make their own mini flashlights from LEDs, button batteries, and strips of aluminum foil. Along the way, they’ll learn about the anatomy of a battery, begin to see how circuits work, and discover how handy an on-off switch can be. I also posted an optional Super Science Reading about kids around the world who are demanding action on climate change! Remember to use the class code (rayroom312) to access the article. Please email or message me with any questions. Have a great week! Ms. Lemberis |
