Mrs. Eleni Koliopoulos
Dearest Room 209 Students and Families,
Wow, what can I say, I cannot believe we are coming up to the last two days of school! I have said this throughout the year, but need to say it again--this has truly been one of my best years of teaching, and it’s because of every single one of you! The beginning of the year was a difficult year for us all, but I am so impressed with the everyones’ resilience. The students have grown so much through the year. This class is so hardworking, kind, and has a great repore with one another. We definitely had a fun year of learning! I would like to personally thank all students for a great year, and congratulate everyone for their hard work! I know you will succeed in 5th grade and beyond. I look forward to keeping in touch and watching you excel through the years. I would also like to send my thank yous to all of the families. Without you this school year would not be possible. I wish you all the best. Enjoy your summer, and I look forward to seeing you all next school year! Sincerely yours, Ms. Lemberis

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week! Notes and Reminders:
Weekly Overview of Assignments In Reading we will continue to make connections between characters from different myths. This week we will read and study the myths; Herculean Strength and Echo & Narcissus. We finished our class novel, Wonder! This week we will complete “End of Book” activities and watch the movie as a class. In Writing we will continue to study fractured stories! Students will choose a myth or a fairytale and begin writing their own fractured stories. In Math we will continue Unit 8 (Fraction Operations; Application). As mentioned last week, this unit is a bit more intense, so some lessons will take two days to complete. In this week’s lessons students find measures of pattern block angles and use known angle measures to find measures of other angles. We will also apply knowledge of line symmetry to create symmetric shapes. In Science the class will continue working on their Invention Convention projects. Students will continue designing an invention of their choice. They will use a PowerPoint template to outline the problem, solution, and design. Students will present their inventions to the class on the last few days of the school year! In Social Studies the class will finish studying the geography and culture of the Northeast Region. In addition, we will also study current events. Homework
There will be no more Weekly Spelling Words! We will continue word study in reading and writing :) Please email me with any questions, comments, or concerns at [email protected]. Sincerely yours, Ms. Lemberis |
