Mrs. Eleni Koliopoulos
Happy Friday Room 209 Students and Families,
I hope everyone is enjoying their Friday! We have had a nice week. 4th graders did an amazing job on their Wax Museum presentations! Congratulations to all students for their hard work. Notes and Reminders:
In reading we will continue our unit on mysteries! This week students will identify the use of foreshadowing and flashbacks in the readings. We will also continue to read and discuss our class novel, The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind. In writing students will begin an expository writing unit! Students will respond to assigned writing prompts at the beginning of the week. Students will then have the opportunity to choose their own topic of interest to write an informative essay about. In Math we will begin the week by reviewing concepts studied throughout the year. We will begin Unit 5 (Fraction and Mixed-Number Computation; Measurement) on Wednesday. In this week’s lessons students explore decomposing fractions into sums of fractions, and practice finding the whole when given a fractional part of a region. In Science the class will continue learning about and studying the human body. We will also research and learn about famous African American Inventors. In Social Studies the class will continue our study on Black History. This week students will choose a person of interest to study. Homework
Weekly Spelling Words Test will be on Friday (02/18): port, force, source, support, chore, report, before, fort, course, order, explore, record, border, landform, history. Please email me with any questions, comments, or concerns at [email protected]. Sincerely yours, Ms. Lemberis
