Mrs. Eleni Koliopoulos
Hello Students and Families,
I hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful weather, and continuing to stay safe and healthy. Notes/Reminders
Below is an outline of this week's assignments for Reading, Math, and Science! Reading Assignments/ Information This week’s focus in reading will be Text Features- Graphs and Charts. As students know, authors organize their text in a way that is helpful for their readers. In this week's reading, the text includes graphs/charts students will use to help them identify important information. In addition, we will continue reading and studying Greek Mythology. We will read and compare a variety of Greek Myths. Students should complete the following reading activities this week;
Math Assignments/ Information Students should continue to practice math 20-30 minutes a day. They can work on Khan Academy Lessons or on the ¨PDF Math Activities¨ posted in google classroom. This week I will post journal pages and Home Links from Everyday Math lessons 8.7-8.9. During these lessons students will solve number stories by converting decimals to fractions, find the area of rectangles using fractions and mixed numbers, and multiply fractions by whole numbers to solve number stories. As a reminder this unit is complex and brings everything students have studied together. It will be challenging. I encourage students to try these lessons, and do their best. I will post the answers to the Math Journal pages at the end of each week. In addition, I have assigned a Khan Academy unit focusing on Decimals! Science Assignments/ Information Over the past month students have had time to plan, create, and build amazing inventions! Students have done an amazing job with this assignment. Classes will have an opportunity to share their inventions during a 4th grade class meeting the last week of school. If you did not complete your invention yet, please submit it to me as soon as possible. When I receive it I will give you points and add it to the Virtual Invention Convention!
Please email or message me with any questions. Have a great week! Ms. Lemberis
