Mrs. Eleni Koliopoulos
Hello Room 209 Students and Families, I hope everyone had a good weekend! As a reminder this is a three day week for students. Students do not have school on Tuesday (Election Day) and Friday (School Improvement Day). Notes and Reminders:
This week in Reading we will review different reading focuses while reading Out of My Mind. Students will identify character traits, the main idea, and write an effective summary. Since we have a short week, students will not meet for guided reading. During small group time students will have an opportunity to receive additional help with any work from this quarter. This week in Writing students will continue Responding to a Prompt. The class will read the text “There's Plenty of Fish in the Trees .” Students will consider what the story would be like if it were told from the other character’s point of view? Students will think about how descriptions of the setting and events might change based on the point of view of the person telling the story. In addition, the class will respond to daily journal prompts. In Math we will finish working on Unit 2- Multiplication and Geometry. We will end the unit by classifying quadrilaterals by their properties, and explore line symmetry in nature, objects, and shapes. We will review the concepts studied throughout the Unit. Students will take the Unit Assessment at the end of the week. This week in Social Studies, students will study current events based on the election. The class will also study a mystery science about the biggest spider in the world! Homework
Thank you all for your continued support- it is so appreciated! Please email me with any questions, comments, or concerns at [email protected]. Sincerely yours, Ms. Lemberis and Ms.Graflund
