Mrs. Eleni Koliopoulos
Hello Room 209 Students and Families,
I hope everyone had a nice and restful weekend! Notes and Reminders:
Weekly Overview of Assignments This week in Reading we will continue reading our novel, Out of My Mind. This week the class will focus on character traits; what characters say, do and think. We will do this with characters from Out of My Mind, as well as during guided reading groups. This week in Writing students will continue Responding to a Prompt. This week, the class will read the text “A Once-in-a-lifetime Experience.” This story tells the reader about a character’s first camping trip. Students will write a journal entry about the camping trip, as if they were there. Journal entries should include information about how the characters respond to the events in the story. In Math we will continue working on Unit 2- Multiplication and Geometry. We will begin the week by reviewing factors and multiples. Throughout the week, students will create, interpret, and solve number stories involving multiplicative comparisons. Lastly, we will classify triangles and quadrilaterals by their properties. This week we will rotate back to Science! Students will learn more about volcanoes, specifically why some volcanoes explode while others do not. We will investigate how differences in lava types explain differences in the shape and eruption patterns among volcanoes! Homework
Thank you all for your continued support- it is so appreciated! Sincerely yours, Ms. Lemberis and Ms.Graflund
